Pencils down: the 2026 NFL Draft has come to a close, and the New Orleans Saints have announced their eight-man rookie draft class (plus a late-round pick swap to grab a veteran player). They've taken a more conservative approach since hiring head coach Kellen Moore, eschewing the aggressive trades up in early rounds that defined the usual approach under longtime general manager Mickey Loomis. Here's a first look at the newest members of the black and gold:

Round 4, Pick 136: WR Bryce Lance, North Dakota State

Round 5, Pick 150: Traded for EDGE Tyree Wilson, Las Vegas Raiders

Round 5, Pick 172: DB Lorenzo Styles Jr., Ohio State

The Saints found some instant contributors with their first two picks; Tyson will immediately draw a lot of targets opposite Chris Olave, while Miller figures to see a heavy workload in the rotation at defensive tackle. Delp frees up tight ends Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant to move around the formation. You'd like to have come away with a twitched-up edge rusher (and Wilson may fill that need) or a reliable nickel in the early rounds, but Rome wasn't built in a day. New Orleans has more work to do now that the draft is over.
