Whitefish's boys tennis team delivered a dominant performance Thursday, sweeping Bigfork 7-0 in a dual match that showcased the Bulldogs' depth and precision on the court.
Leading the charge were Jack Oehlerich and Owen Erickson, each securing straight-set singles victories with impressive control. Oehlerich dominated Jimmy Schlicht 6-0, 6-0, while Erickson handled Dane Carlson 6-1, 6-1, setting the tone for a clean sweep.
The Bulldogs didn't just win—they won decisively. Marcus Mercer and Ben Nelson also added singles wins without dropping a set, with Mercer blanking Rye Peterson 6-0, 6-0 and Nelson defeating Graham Munson 6-1, 6-2. In doubles, the pairings of Cole Moses and Jake Shors, Charlie Oehlerich and Finn Hobart, and Beck Moses and Eli Erickson all cruised to straight-set victories, underscoring Whitefish's teamwork and consistency.
The girls' team also shined, winning five of six matches. Emy Hansen rallied from a set down to edge Cassie Schlicht 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 in a thrilling comeback, while Liesl Brust dominated Amanda Leionard 6-0, 6-0. Grace Holtmeyer of Bigfork provided the lone bright spot for the Vikings, taking down Ainsley Grubb 6-3, 7-5. Whitefish's doubles teams, including Camry Kelch and Aubrey Talbot, and Allie Shors and Lucy Marzo, sealed the deal with commanding performances.
