ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Win or lose, the Rockford IceHogs were sure to leave a lasting impression on their fans Friday night in their final home game of the AHL’s regular season.They wore all-white Screw City alternate uniforms. Their normal Screw City uniforms are all black. Fans were also encouraged to wear white to the game. Many in the crowd of 6,395 at the BMO did just that. However, the IceHogs lost to the Iowa Wild 5-4. Samuel Savoie (11), Rem Pitlick (21), Jamie Engelbert (9), and Joey Anderson (17) scored the IceHogs goals.Both Drew Commesso and Olivier Rodrigue saw time in goal for the IceHogs. Commesso allowed three goals and Rodrigue allowed two.The IceHogs loss dropped the Milwaukee Admirals magic number for clinching the final Calder Cup Playoff spot in the Central Division to one. The IceHogs have four regular season games left, all on the road. First up, a game at Grand Rapids Saturday night. IceHogs fans will have a good opportunity to watch the Hogs in person again Sunday when the Hogs played down I-90 in Rosemont against the Chicago Wolves. That’s a 4 p.m. start.
