Garrett Nussmeier is not going to steal the show among the quarterback in this year's draft cycle. He's likely to be a Day 2 selection and is not the first or second quarterback on most draft boards.
Despite lacking the star power as possessed by some of his peers, Nussmeier remains a highly coveted name for some teams.
Many experts have a team like the Steelers looking to pursue Nussmeier, but there are plenty of other squads that are in need of a backup quarterback option like Nussmeier.
Here's what to know about Nussmeier's draft stock and which teams could be chasing him.

Nussmeier is likely to be a Day 2 selection, with five experts projecting Nussmeier anywhere from the mid-late second round to the end of the third round.
The common projection for Nussmeier is to a team that doesn't have a top choice but has a need at quarterback or will soon with an aging veteran under center. In this case, the Steelers are a prime candidate. With Aaron Rodgers either retiring or having very little time left in the NFL, Pittsburgh is in need of someone to prepare a future starting role. Some think that Nussmeier could be that guy.
While he is one of the more skilled passers at the college level over the past two years, there are some inconsistencies to Nussmeier's game. He ranked No. 5 in the country in passing yards in 2024, but also threw 12 interceptions.
Nussmeier is largely projected in the third round, specifically to the Steelers in most experts' mock drafts.
