Some moves were expected, like the Las Vegas Raiders drafting Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza first overall. But the Dallas Cowboys had a "dream scenario" draft pick after they traded up to select Ohio State safety Caleb Downs at No. 12.

During the 2025 NFL Draft, Texas set a program record with 14 players taken yet no Longhorn was picked in the first round. Texas A&M had 12 players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but only KC Concepcion was drafted in the first round by the Cleveland Browns.

The 91st NFL draft runs April 23-25, 2026 in Pittsburgh at Point State Park and Acrisure Stadium. Not since 1948 has the draft been held in the Steel City. It began Thursday night and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza was selected first overall by the Las Vegas Raiders.

The NFL Draft will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, NFL and ESPN Deportes (Spanish)

According to the NFL, the time between first round selections will drop from 10 minutes to eight minutes. Timing in the second through seventh rounds is the same.
