A world-renowned event in long-distance running, the 2026 London Marathon returns to the streets of the UK this weekend.

As one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, the London Marathon is a lifetime goal for athletes across the globe. The course takes runners past many of the historic parts of London, from Greenwich to the Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the London Eye.

There are many elite storylines to follow this weekend, with last year's champions Sebastian Sawe and Tigst Assefa both returning. Sawe clocked the second-fastest time in London history with 2:02:27, and he's looking to chase a world record Sunday.

Here's everything you need to know about the 2026 London Marathon, including TV channel and streaming options for the annual event.

There won't be a traditional TV broadcast of the London Marathon in North America, but those looking to follow along can turn to live stream coverage.

The 2026 London Marathon will be available for live streaming on the FloTrack and the FloSports app in the United States and Canada.

The London Marathon is set to take place on the morning of Sunday, April 26, local time in London. Here are the start times of all the elite races:

3:50 a.m. ET— Elite wheelchair men's and women's races

4:35 a.m. ET — Elite men's race followed by mass start

The prize purse remains unchanged this year, with $55,000 awarded to each winner, $30,000 (£23,100) going to the runners-up, and $22,500 (£17,400) for third place finishers.

There are some performance bonuses on the line as well. Runners who dip under 2:02 (men) or 2:15 (women) can bag an additional $150,000 (£115,900). Set a new world record and you'll be rewarded with $125,000 (£96,500). Break the course record? That's another $25,000 (£19,300) on offer.

As the London Marathon enters its 46th year, over 50,000 runners are set to take on route that has remained largely unchanged. The 26.2-mile run will begin at historic Greenwich Park then head east to Woolwich.

With its predominantly flat course, runners will pass some of London's most iconic sights, including Tower Bridge, the towering skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, and the timeless visage of Big Ben. The finish line is set at The Mall near Buckingham Palace.
