The Story Behind the Rematch

Davis (14-0) and Albright (17-2-1) first met in 2024, with Davis earning a majority decision win. That victory was later overturned after Davis tested positive for marijuana, adding a layer of unfinished business to this rematch.

Since that fight, Davis has been on a tear, going 5-0 with three consecutive knockout wins. The former WBO lightweight champion was set to face Edwin De Los Santos last June, but he was stripped of the belt after failing to make weight, and the bout was called off. Now, moving up in weight, Davis is determined to prove he can be a reliable main eventer—starting with a decisive win over Albright in front of his hometown crowd.

“Since my last fight, I’ve grown sharper, stronger, and more focused than ever,” Davis said. “On May 16, you’re going to see the best version of Keyshawn Davis. ‘The Businessman’ is ready to handle business in front of my people!”

Albright, meanwhile, has gone 1-0-1 since their first meeting, including a win over Davis’ brother, Kelvin, last June. His most recent bout was a draw against Frank Martin in February. Now, “Woo” is hungry to avenge that loss and prove the first fight was a fluke.

With bad blood, a disputed first result, and both fighters looking to make a statement, this rematch has all the makings of a classic. Don’t miss it.
