The Steelers moved up not once, but twice on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft to secure players the team wanted. Now, after entering the event with 12 selections, Pittsburgh has added five players and traded away a net of two picks, entering Day 3 with just five more scheduled.

To move up to select Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard in the second round, the Steelers traded Nos. 53, 135 and 237 to the Colts for Nos. 47 and 249.

Essentially, Pittsburgh moved up six spots in the second round, moved down 12 spots in the seventh round, and lost a fourth-rounder.

Then, to move up to select Iowa offensive lineman Gennings Dunker in the third round, the Steelers traded Nos. 99 and 216 to the Seahawks for Nos. 96 — moving up three spots but losing a sixth-rounder.

Interestingly, the fourth- and sixth-round picks the Steelers lost were both compensatory selections.

Round 7, 8th overall (No. 224) (from Patriots in Kyle Dugger trade)

Round 7, 14th overall (No. 230) (from Colts in Michael Pittman Jr. trade)

Round 7, 33rd overall (No. 249) (from Colts in Bernard trade-up)
