Draft night is here, and the last round of projections is starting to settle. Another update from ESPN’s Field Yates has three Clemson football players hearing their names called on Thursday night.
At No. 23, Yates sends Blake Miller to the Philadelphia Eagles. The write-up points out that “Right tackle Lane Johnson confirmed in February that he’s back for 2026, but the Eagles have a chance to do what general manager Howie Roseman has consistently done: address ‘wants’ before they become ‘musts.’” Miller has been one of Clemson’s most reliable pieces up front, starting for four years and logging nearly 3,700 snaps. In 2025, he allowed just nine pressures and two sacks, numbers that continue to boost his stock late in the process.
At No. 28, the Houston Texans are projected to take defensive tackle Peter Woods. Even with a strong defensive group already in place, the focus here is getting younger along the interior. Yates notes, “The Texans are as talented as any team on defense, but defensive tackle is an area for them to get younger.” Woods hasn’t put up huge sack totals yet, finishing with 5.0 over the last two seasons, but his tools stand out. “He’s an explosive, nimble pass rusher with strong hands to disengage at the point of attack.”
To close out the first round at No. 32, Yates has the Seattle Seahawks selecting edge rusher T.J. Parker. There’s been talk about Seattle potentially moving back, but this projection keeps the pick in place. “General manager John Schneider said the Seahawks are hoping to move back at some point in the draft, as they have currently have a league-low four selections.” Still, Yates adds, “I don’t think they will trade this pick, as they have a chance to add a rugged, tough edge rusher to coach Mike Macdonald’s defense.” Parker is viewed as a fit in that system and brings a similar profile to current Seahawks rusher Derick Hall.

If it plays out this way, Clemson would have three players taken in the opening round, another sign of the program’s steady presence in the draft.
