Baseball season in Washington, D.C., just got a whole lot brighter—and louder. The Washington Nationals are bringing back one of their most beloved traditions: Firework Fridays. If you love the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd, just wait until you see the sky light up over Nationals Park.
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 1st, when the first postgame fireworks show of the season will ignite the night. The Nationals take on the Milwaukee Brewers at 6:45 p.m., and about 10 minutes after the final out, the real spectacle begins. "Ensure an unforgettable evening by closing your event with fireworks," the team says, whether launched from the garage roof or a barge on the Anacostia River. It's a dramatic finish that turns a great game into an epic memory.
But that's just the beginning. Two more Firework Fridays are scheduled: July 3rd against the Pittsburgh Pirates and September 11th after the Los Angeles Angels game. Each one promises a sky full of color and a stadium full of energy.
If fireworks aren't enough, the Nationals are also launching their Postgame Summer Concert Series. About 30 minutes after the final out, the field becomes a stage. Taio Cruz will perform after the May 29th game against the San Diego Padres, Jason Derulo takes over on July 24th following the Arizona Diamondbacks matchup, and country star Jordan Davis will close out the series on August 7th after the Cincinnati Reds game. Best part? The concerts are free with your game ticket. Want to get closer? On-field pass wristbands are available for pickup at the Home Plate Tailgate area behind sections 124-125, but you'll need to grab yours before the end of the 7th inning.
And for the music lovers who want even more, Nationals Park is hosting major non-game-day concerts this season, including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Noah Kahan, Foo Fighters, and My Chemical Romance. Whether you're there for the home runs or the headliners, this season at Nationals Park is all about the extra spark.
