The Indianapolis Colts were taking the NFL by storm last season.

And then Daniel Jones got hurt, and everything changed, so much so that there was a Philip Rivers chapter before Indy's season ended.

That made it all feel kind of like a bummer by the time the season ended, and it has Colts fans anxiously awaiting what might happen with Jones.

A torn Achilles is never something easy to get back from. For Indianapolis to maximize its 2026 season, it needs Jones taking the snaps.

It feels like that wouldn't have been the case in the past with a torn Achilles, but players are getting back sooner and sooner even from those injuries.

Colts coach Shane Steichen recently told ESPN's Stephen Holder:

"He's done a hell of a job with his rehab. He's been tirelessly working at it. He's been in here every day, 8 to 3 o'clock. I know he's trying to hit certain landmarks, and he's on a good path with that."

At draft time, it's still far too early to know for sure. Jones could have to miss more time than hoped.

But it at least sounds like things are developing in the way the Colts would've hoped heading into the offseason.
