As of Monday evening, here is what we do and don't currently know about Ahmad Hardy's status after the Missouri running back was shot at a concert.

Missouri Tigers running back Ahmad Hardy, one of college football's most electrifying players, was shot at a concert early Sunday morning in Laurel, Mississippi. The 20-year-old underwent surgery and is now in stable condition, according to an official statement from Mizzou athletics.

Hardy, a native of Oma, Mississippi, is coming off a historic junior season that saw him lead the SEC and all Power conferences with 1,649 rushing yards. After transferring from Louisiana-Monroe, he earned consensus All-American honors and quickly became the centerpiece of Missouri's offense. Many draft analysts have projected him as a potential first-round pick in next year's NFL Draft, with expectations that he would be the top running back in the country for the 2026 season.

Off the field, Hardy recently welcomed his son, Ahmad Hardy Jr., in March. He's also known for his love of horse riding and fishing, hobbies that paint a picture of a grounded athlete with deep roots in his Mississippi community.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday at an outdoor rap concert at the Kamakazy Biker Club in Laurel, according to the Laurel Leader-Call. Laurel Police Department Sgt. Macon Davis described the scene: "There had been a scheduled concert there of some rappers... It drew a large crowd, and then gunshots rang out at the end." Laurel is located about 75 miles from Hardy's hometown of Oma, along Interstate 59 in southeastern Mississippi.

Since Monday morning's statement from Mizzou, there have been no official updates on Hardy's condition, leaving many questions unanswered. The university has rallied around their star running back, writing: "Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans. We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support."

As this story continues to develop, the college football world waits with bated breath for news on one of its brightest stars. For now, all focus remains on Hardy's recovery and the support system surrounding him.
