MANHATTAN — Kansas State's latest transfer portal addition from Colorado State is best known for his 3-point shooting and scoring. His family, however, is best known for Steinerizers, belly-to-belly suplexes and something called a Frankensteiner.

Brandon Rechsteiner, who became the fifth player to commit to Casey Alexander's inaugural roster, has family in the WWE Hall of Fame, including his father, known to many as "Big Poppa Pump."

Rechsteiner might not wear a singlet on the basketball court, nor awesome facial hair that ruled the 1990s, but he does shoot 40% from beyond the arc, something Alexander's offenses tend to covet.

Here is what you should know about the Steiner Son, er, Rechsteiner.

of Fame. Some consider the pair as the best tag-team duo in wrestling history.

The youngest Rechsteiner was asked about his family's legacy early in his lone season at Colorado State last year.

"You’ve got a standard you’ve got to live up to. If you don’t work hard, you’ll kind of be the laughingstock of the family," he said. "That kind of pushes me every day. Every day I remind myself what my last name is and I’ve got to push to meet my family standard."

Out of Etowah High in Woodstock, Georgia, Rechsteiner was a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports, ranked as the 16th-best point guard and No. 115 player in the country.

He held an offer from then-Kansas State coach Jerome Tang, as well as offers from Clemson, LSU, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Miami (Florida), and others. He chose to play at Virginia Tech under Mike Young.

At Virginia Tech, he played two seasons, mostly off the bench. He started 17 of 58 games, shooting a combined 29.3% from deep. During his sophomore season, he averaged seven points on 36.5% shooting.

As a sophomore, he had two games in which he scored 19 points, making three 3-pointers in each. A volume 3-point shooter, he attempted five or more 3-pointers in 14 different games.

Rechsteiner entered the transfer portal after his sophomore season and wound up on Ali Farokhmanesh's roster at Colorado State. He started all 34 games in his lone season in Fort Collins.

With the Rams, Rechsteiner led the team in scoring at 12 points per game. He was a 40% shooter from deep, which ranked 43rd in the country among players who made 2.5 per game and played in 75% of their team's games. He averaged 6.3 outside shots, 2.5 assists and 1.7 turnovers per game.
