Iowa offensive lineman Beau Stephens was selected 148th overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Stephens was a part of a unit that won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line in college football. He was a first-team All-American by the Associated Press.

We asked Hawk Central football writers Chad Leistikow and Tyler Tachman for some quick analysis on Stephens. Here's what they said.

Chad Leistikow: Of Iowa’s three likely-drafted linemen, Stephens may have the most long-term staying power. He always had the talent, as a four-star prospect with big-time offers from LSU and Michigan. But after reaching some rock-bottom lows in his second season at Iowa, he was diagnosed with ADHD and ultimately emerged stronger mentally, and that translated to his improved and confident performance on the field. Stephens has a mature approach to his game and a relentless, punishing style both in the run and pass game. He didn’t allow a sack in his final three seasons as a Hawkeye.

Tyler Tachman: Stephens made 34 starts in his Hawkeye career, appearing at both left and right guard. Stephens was a part of a successful offensive line rebuild under position coach George Barnett. The group won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line in college football. Stephens earned national recognition individually, as well. He was named an AP first-team All-American last season.
