Inter Milan are setting their sights on one of Italy's most promising young talents, with reports confirming that Marco Palestra has emerged as a top priority for the club's summer transfer window. The 21-year-old right-back, currently on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta, has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season that has caught the attention of the Nerazzurri hierarchy.

According to Italian sources, Palestra and Como's Nico Paz are the two "obsessions" for Inter as they look to strengthen their squad. Palestra's impressive performances on loan have made him a hot commodity, and Atalanta's ideal scenario would be to keep him for another Serie A season before cashing in. However, Inter are eager to bring him to San Siro this summer and are reportedly prepared to invest around €40 million for the talented full-back.

But there's a catch: Inter will likely need to make room in their squad and budget before landing Palestra. The club's current first-choice right wing-back, Denzel Dumfries, could be on his way out, with a €25 million release clause in his contract set to become active this summer. Additionally, Brazilian winger Luis Henrique, who has struggled to find his footing in his debut Serie A season, might also be sold if a suitable offer arrives. Bournemouth showed interest in January, and Inter would be keen to revisit that option if interest resurfaces.

With Inter closing in on what would be their 21st Scudetto under Cristian Chivu, the club is clearly planning for the future. Palestra, an Italy international at the youth level, represents a long-term investment that could solidify the right flank for years to come. For now, all eyes are on the summer transfer market to see if Inter can orchestrate the necessary departures to make this exciting signing a reality.
