Iowa offensive lineman Logan Jones was selected No. 57 by the Chicago Bears in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jones, a Council Bluffs native, earned the Rimington Trophy as the nation's top center and was a consensus All-American for the Hawkeyes.

We asked Hawk Central football writers Chad Leistikow and Tyler Tachman for some quick analysis on Jones. Here's what they said.

Chad Leistikow: What the Rimington Trophy winner lacks in size (6-3, 299) he more than makes up in power, as one of most prolific weight-room warriors in Iowa football history. Jones also possesses freak athleticism and a tenacious drive that his center predecessor, Tyler Linderbaum, displayed. Jones excelled in Iowa’s zone-blocking scheme; succeeding right away in the NFL will depend on the team fit. He does arrive at an older age (he’ll be 25 in October) and some mileage on the tires (51 college starts).

Tyler Tachman: Jones was a stalwart on Iowa football's offensive line, starting 51 games across his Hawkeye career. The Council Bluffs, Iowa, product joined the Iowa program as a defensive lineman but switched to the other side of the ball to replace standout center Tyler Linderbaum. There were growing pains as Jones tried to fill big shoes. But he used that adversity to develop into a stellar offensive lineman. Jones won the 2025 Rimington Trophy, honoring the most outstanding center in Division I football. He was also part of an offensive line that won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line in college football.
