The Westlake girls golf team made an emphatic statement on Tuesday, rolling to the UIL Class 6A state championship at TPC San Antonio with a commanding 10-stroke victory over Southlake Carroll. Vandegrift finished third, 15 shots behind the Chaparrals. It was Westlake's fifth girls state title in school history, coming just one week after the Chaps' boys team captured their own 6A crown—a clean sweep that cements Westlake's status as the premier high school golf program in Texas.
Led by a balanced team effort, all five Westlake golfers contributed to the win. Emmy Yang paced the Chaps with a two-day total of 153 (78-75), while teammates Ava Osborne (82-73-155), Lindsay Kneer (76-79-155), Rachel Turk (81-75-156), and Lillian Cubriel (88-78-166) provided steady depth. After trailing Vandegrift by one stroke following Monday's first round, Westlake stormed back with the best team score of the second day (301), while the Vipers fell back with a 317.
Vandegrift's Addison Bandelier led her team with a 155 (78-77), followed by Ava Frazier (78-80-158), Kensley Cova (79-81-160), Michaela Partridge (81-79-160), and Navya Modi (89-84-173). In the individual standings, Katy Jordan's Carolyn Liu claimed the title with a stellar 142 (71-71), five strokes ahead of Plano West's Eileen Lee (76-70-146). Laredo United South's Alyssa Esparza and Vista Ridge's Anvesha Gulhane tied for third at 147.
In other classifications, Comal Pieper won the Class 5A team championship by seven shots over Frisco Reedy at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown, with Alamo Heights taking third. The Rouse team finished 11th. In Class 4A, Andrews captured the title with a 14-stroke win over Glen Rose at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland, while Frisco Panther Creek earned bronze. The Lago Vista team also competed, with Adriana Owen and Bailey representing the squad.
