‘We can sell out a stadium’: Agit Kabayel sends message to Oleksandr Usyk

Agit Kabayel has aims for a big fight in Germany.

Agit Kabayel might not be at the top of everyone's list for a shot at Oleksandr Usyk, but the German heavyweight contender is making his case loud and clear. In a bold message to the unified champion, Kabayel insists that a fight in Germany would be a massive event—and that he's a bigger draw than Usyk might think.

"We can sell out a stadium," Kabayel confidently stated, envisioning a title showdown on home soil. And he's not just talking about any venue—he's picturing a packed arena with thousands of passionate fans cheering him on.

The conversation started when Kabayel was asked about Usyk's potential fight with kickboxing star Rico Verhoeven. While that matchup has generated buzz, Kabayel believes there's an even bigger opportunity waiting.

"For the fight fans, for the boxing fans, this is the biggest fight we can make now," Kabayel said. "He fought Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois. When he beats Rico, why not Kabayel vs. Usyk in Germany? I think we can easily, easily sell out a stadium."

So why has Kabayel received so little attention from the Ukrainian champion? The 32-year-old has a theory.

"I think the Kabayel name is not too big, but too much risk," he explained. "I don't think he's scared—he's a big sportsman, and I respect him a lot. He's a very good boxer. But I think he believes Kabayel is not a big name. When he sees this, come to Germany, we'll sell out the arena easily. After that, he will understand Kabayel is really a big name in Germany."

Currently, Kabayel holds the WBC interim title, making him Usyk's mandatory challenger. The heavyweight division is watching closely to see if Usyk will face top contenders like Kabayel or choose to vacate his belts. For now, the German fighter is keeping the pressure on—and making sure his name is heard.
