Buffalo Sabres fans are keeping the faith. After a tough 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 at KeyBank Center, the electric atmosphere around the city hasn't dimmed one bit.
"I definitely feel like we can come back, it's only Game 2 and we're tied," one fan shared after the final buzzer. Another added, "I still feel pretty confident — this team has had its ups and downs."
That resilience is pure Buffalo. "It's just the Sabres, we'll find a way to win. We always come back. It's Buffalo," one lifelong supporter said, capturing the spirit of a fanbase that knows a thing or two about loyalty.
The energy wasn't just inside the arena. Across the city, watch parties were buzzing. Hundreds packed Hofbräuhaus Buffalo for a pregame event hosted by actor and former hockey player Wyatt Russell, who was on hand promoting his Lake Hour Seltzers and soaking in the playoff fever. "I feel like rooting for the Sabres right now is like rooting for hockey," Russell said. "Go hockey, go Sabres! It's been awesome."
"Hockey's back. Buffalo's back. We're not leaving either," said Sabres fan Jake Diomme. "Seeing us in the playoffs, nothing can beat it. This is a hockey town, a football town — nothing better."
For many, this playoff run is extra special. It's the first time in nearly 20 years the team has advanced to the second round, and fans are savoring every moment. "I've watched them through wins, through losses," said fan Stella Bianco. "To see everybody come together again as a community for the Sabres, it really is just a great time. There's no better place to be right now."
The series now shifts to Montreal for Games 3 and 4, starting Sunday night. The journey continues, and Sabres fans are ready for whatever comes next.
