History is in the making at Weatherford College. For the very first time, the Coyotes baseball team will host the NJCAA Southwest District Super Regional Tournament, bringing high-stakes postseason action to the familiar confines of Roger Williams Ballpark. The double-elimination showdown runs from Thursday, May 14, through Saturday, May 16, with an "if necessary" game scheduled for Sunday, May 17. The ultimate prize? A ticket to the NJCAA Div. I World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The four-team bracket is stacked with talent. Midland College (47-10) enters as the No. 1 seed and is ranked No. 9 nationally, bringing a powerhouse resume. Weatherford (39-18) holds the No. 2 seed and is ranked No. 21, riding a wave of momentum. McLennan Community College (45-11) is the No. 3 seed and ranked No. 10, while Howard College (31-25) rounds out the field as the No. 4 seed.

The Coyotes kick off their tournament journey against McLennan on Thursday at noon. The schedule features games at noon and 3 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday, with the championship game set for 3 p.m. Saturday. If needed, the decisive game will take place Sunday at 1 p.m.

Weatherford enters the super regional red-hot, having swept New Mexico Military Institute in the first round of the regional postseason last week. That dominant performance earned them hosting rights as the highest remaining seed from the NTJCAC. The Coyotes have now won eight straight games and 14 of their last 15, proving they're peaking at the perfect time.

For fans eager to witness this historic moment, tournament passes are available for $25. Daily admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and school-aged children. Passes can be purchased online at weatherfordcollege.simpletix.com. Don't miss your chance to see the Coyotes chase a World Series berth on their home turf.
