It's been a season to remember for the No. 23 Weatherford College softball team, and they're not done yet. The Coyotes capped off their regular season in style on Saturday, sweeping Cisco College with two road victories to complete a dominant four-game series win. Now, all eyes turn to the postseason.

Weatherford (38-14 overall, 22-10 in conference) is headed to the Southwest District A Championship, set for Wednesday through Friday, May 13-15, at Odessa College's Wrangler Softball Complex. As the No. 4 seed, the Coyotes will face a tough opening test against top-seeded Odessa—the No. 10-ranked team in the nation. First pitch is scheduled for noon on Wednesday.

The Coyotes didn't just win; they made history. Weatherford shattered two team records during the regular season finale, racking up 24 triples to break the previous mark of 22 and crushing 69 home runs to surpass the 66-homer record that had stood since 2013. That kind of power is a testament to the team's relentless approach at the plate.

In Saturday's opener, Weatherford stormed to an 11-2 victory in six innings, with the offense coming alive after a quiet first frame. The Coyotes scored in four straight innings, highlighted by a five-run fourth and a three-run fifth. Joni Jackson led the charge, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double, while Aofia Noa was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs. Adeline Glatch added a two-run homer, and Alex Graham also went deep as Weatherford pounded out four extra-base hits. Kaymie Chandler earned the win in the circle, allowing just two runs (one earned) on three hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

The nightcap was more of the same, with Weatherford completing the sweep in a 10-4 win. A five-run third inning put the Coyotes in control, and they added runs in four different frames while drawing eight walks and collecting 10 more hits. Alex Graham was a force, going 2-for-2 with a double, a home run, three RBIs, and three walks. Karlie Landrum was equally impressive, finishing 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs, while Aofia Noa chipped in a two-run homer. Kamryn Mears improved to 16-6 on the season, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits in six innings with eight strikeouts. Addison Brown closed things out with a scoreless final inning.

With 13 wins in their last 17 games, the Coyotes are riding a wave of momentum into the postseason—and they're ready to make some noise.
