Monaco on an IMAX screen sounds like a great idea to me. The Circuit de Monaco is essentially a moving art installation with walls close enough to touch, elevation changes, tunnels, the harbor… It’s the perfect race to watch on…

Imagine watching the Monaco Grand Prix on a screen so massive you can practically feel the walls closing in. That dream is now a reality, as Apple TV and IMAX have joined forces to bring five of Formula 1's most iconic races to over 50 IMAX theaters across the U.S. in 2026.

The Circuit de Monaco is more than just a race track—it's a moving art installation. With its razor-thin barriers, dramatic elevation changes, the legendary tunnel, and the stunning harbor backdrop, this street circuit was practically made for the biggest screen possible. Now, you can experience every heart-pounding moment without leaving your seat.

The Monaco Grand Prix hits IMAX screens on June 7 at 9 a.m. ET, with tickets already on sale through imax.com. Each event runs about two and a half hours, including a 15-minute pre-show block before the cars roar through Monte Carlo's streets. Tickets are priced at approximately $30—a small price for a front-row experience that puts you right in the action.

This IMAX collaboration marks the first season of Apple TV's exclusive U.S. broadcasting rights for Formula 1, a deal reportedly worth $750 million over five years. It's a bold move that goes beyond streaming, aiming to turn F1 into a true American spectacle. The announcement builds on the successful Apple-IMAX partnership that began with the Brad Pitt-led F1 movie, which became 2025's highest-grossing Hollywood release in IMAX, earning $97.6 million worldwide.

IMAX Chief Content Officer Jonathan Fischer summed it up perfectly: the film "proved beyond a doubt that the speed, precision, and artistry of Formula 1 translate beautifully to the IMAX Experience."

The full 2026 IMAX race calendar includes: Miami (May 3), Monaco (June 7), British Grand Prix at Silverstone (July 5), Italian Grand Prix at Monza (September 6), and the United States Grand Prix in Austin (October 25).

For anyone who's watched Monaco on a laptop or modest TV and felt the race's magic get lost in translation, this is your chance to see it the way it was meant to be seen—on a room-filling screen with precision surround sound that puts you in the driver's seat. Get your tickets now and prepare for a race experience that's anything but small.
