The New Orleans Saints have found their next big playmaker. With the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the team selected Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson—and the Big 12 Conference celebrated by dropping a 40-minute highlight reel showcasing nearly every catch he made over the past two seasons with the Sun Devils.

If you haven't seen Tyson's college tape yet, you're in for a treat. The numbers alone tell the story: 136 receptions for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns, plus a rushing score and 88 first downs converted across 24 games. That's the kind of production that turns heads on draft day and gets fans excited for what's to come in the Big Easy.

Tyson is expected to immediately lighten the load for star receiver Chris Olave while giving quarterback Tyler Shough a reliable target on the opposite side of the field. Behind those two, the Saints have some intriguing depth. Fourth-round picks Devaughn Vele (acquired via trade with Denver) and Bryce Lance appear to be roster locks, leaving a competitive battle for the final one or two spots among Mason Tipton, Ja'Lynn Polk, Bub Means, Trey Palmer, and rookie sixth-rounder Barion Brown. Training camp should be a fierce fight for those precious roster positions.

For Tyson, the biggest challenge will be staying on the field. Injuries have been a recurring theme throughout his college career—a torn ACL ended his freshman year and wiped out his sophomore season, a broken collarbone cut his junior year short, and a hamstring issue cost him three games last season. However, the Saints have reason for optimism: they ranked among the league leaders in fewest games missed due to hamstring and soft-tissue injuries last year, giving them confidence they can manage Tyson's workload and keep him active on game days.

If he can stay healthy, Tyson has all the tools to become a fan favorite in New Orleans. We can't wait to see him create new highlights in black and gold.
