Behind a strong day from Sophia Ramuno in the circle and three home runs, Washington snapped its seven-game losing streak on Saturday.

After a tough stretch that saw them drop seven straight games, the Washington Huskies finally rediscovered their winning formula on Saturday afternoon. With an emphatic 8-2 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes on the road, the team not only snapped their losing skid but also reminded everyone why they're a force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten.

Sophia Ramuno was the star of the show in the circle, delivering a complete-game performance that had fans on their feet. She allowed just two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks while striking out 11 batters, improving her season record to 10-4. It was exactly the kind of dominant outing the Huskies needed to halt a slide that began back on April 17.

But Ramuno wasn't alone in the spotlight. The Washington offense came alive in a big way, scoring eight runs—their highest total since April 4. Preseason Second Team All-American Alexis DeBoer led the charge, going 2-for-4 with a double and her team-leading 18th home run of the season. She was joined by freshman second baseman Marley Teasley, who launched her first career home run—a three-run blast—and junior catcher Jadyn Glab, who added a two-run shot of her own. Left fielder Ava Carroll also chipped in with two hits, giving the lineup a much-needed spark.

For a team that had been struggling at the plate against conference powerhouses like Oregon and UCLA, this offensive explosion was a welcome sight. The Huskies are now looking to build momentum as they head into the Big Ten Tournament next week.

On the other side, Ohio State's Skylar Limon hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback. Buckeyes starter Jenna Molk took the loss, falling to 15-14 after working six innings and allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks.

With the win, Washington improved to 35-16 overall and 16-7 in Big Ten play. The series finale is set for Sunday at 10:00 a.m. PT, where the Huskies will look to secure a series win and carry that momentum into postseason play.
