Follow along as the Nats take on the Twins in a series rubbermatch

After a rough 11-3 loss on Tuesday, the Washington Nationals bounced back in spectacular fashion last night, dropping 15 runs on the Minnesota Twins in a dominant 15-2 victory. The Nats' bats came alive, with four players going yard—Drew Millas kicked things off with a two-run shot in the fifth, followed by Brady House's two-run bomb in the seventh, CJ Abrams' grand slam in the eighth, and Jose Tena's solo homer later that same inning. On the mound, Miles Mikolas delivered his deepest start of the season, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing just two runs, before handing the ball to Mitchell Parker and newcomer Zak Kent to close it out.

For today's rubber match, manager Blake Butera is sticking with the same lineup that erupted for 15 runs, with only one change: Keibert Ruiz will take over behind the plate for Drew Millas. Jake Irvin gets the start for Washington, looking to secure the series win and even the homestand at 3-3. Irvin has been solid this season, going at least five innings and allowing three or fewer runs in six of his seven starts.

The Twins, meanwhile, are shaking things up. While the core of their lineup remains similar—with Austin Martin and Victor Caratini stepping in for Josh Bell and Ryan Jeffers—the batting order has been heavily reworked, with new faces in the two, three, four, five, seven, and eight spots compared to yesterday. Simeon Woods Richardson takes the mound for Minnesota in this deciding game, but he's struggled this season, allowing at least four runs in four of his last five starts and carrying an ERA north of six.

After a 1-3 start to this homestand, winning the final two games—and at least finishing with a .500 record—would be a huge morale boost for a Nationals team that has performed much better on the road than at home. A win today would push them to just two games under .500, with a chance to climb over that mark this weekend in Miami. It's all on the line in this series finale. Follow along and let's go Nats!
