In a move that feels like coming full circle, the Washington Huskies have officially entered the race for elite 2027 edge rusher T.K. Cunningham. Nearly four years after receiving his first collegiate offer from then-Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch, the now-Washington coach has circled back to reignite that recruiting connection.

Cunningham, a towering 6-foot-5, 230-pound pass rusher, made a significant cross-country move from Georgia to Arizona in early 2026 to finish his prep career at Basha High School—the same alma mater of Huskies star quarterback Demond Williams Jr. That relocation opened the door for Washington to extend a formal offer on Thursday, making it the 54th scholarship offer for the three-star recruit in the 2027 class.

The timing couldn't be more strategic. When Fisch and senior director of player personnel Matt Doherty were still in Tucson back in November 2022, Cunningham received his first offer from Arizona. Now that the duo has moved north to Seattle, that existing relationship gives the Huskies a valuable foothold as they make a late push in his recruitment.

During his junior season at Grayson High School in Georgia last year, Cunningham showcased his disruptive potential with 15 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, and two passes defended across 12 games. While his three-star ranking by both 247Sports and On3 might not immediately grab headlines, his frame and athletic upside are rare commodities—especially for programs recruiting out west.

Washington's growing pipeline to Basha High School has been undeniable since Fisch arrived in Seattle three years ago. Beyond Williams, the Huskies are also pushing hard for four-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough, who is set for an official visit on June 19. That could create a window for Cunningham to either join his Basha teammate on campus—which would require rescheduling his current Missouri official visit set for the same weekend—or squeeze in a mid-week official before the end of June.

Cunningham's recruiting calendar is already packed, with official visits scheduled to Purdue (May 29), Florida State (June 5), and Kentucky (June 12), in addition to his trip to Missouri (June 19). But with Washington's late entry and strong Basha connections, the Huskies have positioned themselves as a serious contender for one of the more intriguing edge prospects in the 2027 class.
