The Washington Huskies have seemingly cemented themselves as one of the top teams to watch in the race for four-star WR Dontay Tyson.

Washington football is making serious waves in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and the Huskies have their sights set on another dynamic playmaker for the passing game. After already securing commitments from four-star wide receivers Braylon Pope and Zerek Sidney, head coach Jedd Fisch and his staff are aggressively pursuing Arizona standout Dontay Tyson.

Tyson, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect from Peoria High School, is ranked as the No. 323 overall recruit and No. 41 wide receiver in the 2027 class. He's been a top priority for wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings, and Washington has positioned itself as a major contender for his services. Back in December, Tyson released a top eight that included Arizona, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC—but now two programs have clearly emerged as frontrunners.

The Huskies are set to host Tyson for an official visit on May 29, marking his second trip to Seattle in just three months after an unforgettable Junior Day experience in early March. He'll also make a visit to Texas A&M on June 12, setting up a compelling battle between the two schools. During his junior season, Tyson was limited to seven games but still posted impressive numbers: 37 catches for 448 yards and seven touchdowns, showcasing the college-ready frame and athleticism that Washington covets.

Former 247Sports analyst Greg Biggins had high praise for Tyson's game, noting his strong build, speed, and ability to stretch the field. "He really excels on go routes and wide receiver screens and has home run hitting ability," Biggins wrote. "He’s strong in the air with excellent body control and routinely wins 50-50 jump balls. He uses his body well to shield smaller defensive backs and is tough to bring down in the open field."

Washington isn't stopping with Tyson, either. The Huskies have also locked in an official visit with four-star receiver Tre Moore for June 19 and are pushing to schedule a trip with top-50 prospect Osani Gayles. With a strong foundation already in place and more elite targets on the horizon, the Huskies are building a receiving corps that could be the talk of the 2027 class.
