The Washington Huskies are adding a local heart to their 2026 roster. Linebacker Jesse Ewell, a lifelong Husky fan who grew up in the Evergreen State, is coming home as a walk-on after captaining his San Clemente High School team in California.

Ewell, who made nine appearances with 18 total tackles for the Tritons, brings a versatile 6-foot-2, 218-pound frame to Seattle. He lined up primarily as an outside linebacker, holding his own against the run while developing as a pass rusher. His athleticism also suggests potential roles at tight end or on special teams as he carves out his path.

He is set to join the program in June alongside other incoming 2026 signees. Head coach Jedd Fisch noted the roster currently sits at 94 players entering spring camp, with a handful of walk-on spots still available for the fall. For Ewell, this opportunity represents the culmination of a childhood dream, trading the California sun for the purple and gold of his home-state Huskies.
