The Golden State Warriors would strike gold in a recent blockbuster trade proposal.

The Golden State Warriors are gearing up for a pivotal offseason, and one bold trade proposal could reshape the franchise's future in spectacular fashion. According to a recent analysis from Hoops Habit's Cal Durrett, the Warriors might be on the verge of parting ways with longtime stalwart Draymond Green to reunite with a 16-time All-Star—none other than Kevin Durant.

Stephen Curry, still playing at an elite level, deserves to finish his legendary career on a championship-contending team. To make that happen, the Warriors may need to swing for the fences with a blockbuster deal. Durrett's proposal suggests sending Draymond Green, matching salary, and a future first-round pick to acquire Durant—a move that would bring back the superstar who helped Golden State capture two titles earlier in his career.

"The possibility of Durant returning to Golden State would have seemed far-fetched years ago, but a lot has changed," Durrett wrote. He noted that Durant previously declined a trade back to the Warriors in 2024 while still with the Phoenix Suns, but his time there was largely a failure, leading to a trade to the Houston Rockets. Now, with Durant's 2025-26 season officially over after the Lakers eliminated the Rockets in a decisive 98-78 victory—and a bone bruise limiting him to just one game—trade rumors are heating up.

Trading Green, a 14-year Warrior and defensive anchor, might seem unthinkable given his deep ties to the franchise. But as Durrett points out, the Warriors were willing to move him for Giannis Antetokounmpo, so a Durant reunion isn't out of the question. For a team that thrives on high-octane offense and championship pedigree, bringing back a $194 million superstar who already knows how to shine alongside Curry could be the ultimate game-changer.

As the offseason approaches, all eyes will be on Golden State. Will they go all-in for Durant and reignite a dynasty? Or will they stick with the core that brought them so much success? One thing's for sure: the Warriors are ready to make a splash.
