The race for the San Joaquin County Martin Dentistry Baseball Athlete of the Week is heating up, and it's time to cast your vote for the standout performer from May 4-9.
Every week during the 2025 high school baseball season, The Record honors one exceptional player with this prestigious award, celebrating the best of the 209-area schools. This week's ballot features six talented nominees from Stockton, Manteca, Escalon, Ripon, and Lathrop—all of whom delivered memorable performances on the diamond.
Among the highlights, East Union's Peyton Heath showcased his skills at the plate and on the bases during a thrilling Sac Joaquin Section Div. IV quarterfinal matchup against Bradshaw Christian. The game, held at East Union High on May 8, saw the Lancers secure a hard-fought 6-4 victory. Heath's powerful swing and aggressive base running were key to the win, as he drove in runs and kept pressure on the defense.
Teammate Jackson Fay also made his presence felt, beating out a throw to first base with his trademark speed, while Bradshaw Christian's Evan Rickert stretched for a high toss in a close play.
