Spring postseason is heating up, and the Eugene-Springfield area is buzzing with standout performances from some of the most talented young athletes around. This week, we're thrilled to present the nominees for the Active Chiropractic Boys Athlete of the Week—a celebration of grit, speed, and skill that keeps our local sports community thriving.

Leading the pack is Triangle Lake junior Tristen Adams, who blazed to a personal-best 38.87 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles at the May 2 Marist Track Classic. That time isn't just impressive—it's the fourth-fastest in state history for a Class 1A hurdler and ranks sixth overall in Oregon this season, regardless of classification. A true testament to hard work paying off.

Over on the diamond, Thurston sophomore Carlin Crutcher has been unstoppable at the plate. On May 5, he went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs, powering the Colts to a 24-2 rout of Springfield. Just three days later, he crushed a home run and drove in five more runs in a 17-0 shutout of the same Millers. Talk about a hot streak.

Cottage Grove sophomore Jacob Dugas is making waves in the field, posting a personal-best triple jump of 42 feet, 6 3/4 inches at the Marist Track Classic on May 2. That leap currently stands as the ninth-best in the state among Class 4A boys—a bright sign for the Lions' track program.

Elmira sophomore Trayvn Dumont turned heads at The Cinco De Mayo Meet on May 5, clocking a 400-meter personal best of 52.04. That time ranks ninth-fastest in the state for Class 3A boys, showing that this young Falcon has serious endurance in his legs.

Marist Catholic is well-represented this week, starting with junior Drew Granade, who ran a 400 personal best of 49.60 to take second at the May 2 Marist Track Classic. He also grabbed silver in the 100 meters at 11.47. His 400 time is the third-fastest in the state among Class 4A boys—no small feat.

Fellow Spartan junior Aidan Miller is also turning heads on the track, posting a 300-meter hurdle personal best of 40.39 at the same meet. That mark is the fastest in the state this season for Class 4A boys, making him a clear favorite heading into postseason competition.

In baseball, Creswell senior Kayden Roberts delivered a clutch moment that defines playoff baseball: a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the ninth inning on May 5, leading the Bulldogs to a thrilling 5-3 home win over Pleasant Hill. Leadership under pressure.

Rounding out the nominees, Marist Catholic junior Coen Rushton posted a 200-meter personal best, adding depth to an already stacked Spartan roster.

Now it's your turn to decide who deserves the spotlight. Cast your vote at registerguard.com/sports by 9 a.m. Thursday.
