From track stars breaking records to baseball and softball sluggers dominating the plate, this week's nominees represent the best of the best. Voting is simple—just head to our poll and cast your vote once per day to keep things fair and fun.

Let's meet the contenders:

Barker (Boylan Track & Field) – She may have narrowly missed gold in the 100-meter hurdles, but that was her only loss in a busy, brilliant day at the NIC-10 Girls Conference Meet. Barker stormed back to win the 300 hurdles and triple jump, and anchored Boylan's winning 4x400 relay team.

Culvey (Belvidere North Softball) – Clutch doesn't begin to describe it. Culvey went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, helping the Blue Thunder secure a walk-off 7-6 victory over Harlem in eight thrilling innings last Wednesday.

Freshman Sensation (Hononegah Softball) – This rookie is playing like a veteran. She hit .611 last week with four doubles, three home runs, and nine RBIs. On the mound, she tossed 19 2/3 innings, picking up big conference wins over Stillman Valley and Oregon.

Erdmann (Forreston Baseball) – What a week for this Cardinal. Erdmann went 10-for-14 with 12 runs scored, three doubles, and three home runs as Forreston posted a 3-1 record. He's now hitting .402 with 21 RBIs and 36 runs, putting him on pace to break the school's all-time hits and runs records.

McElroy (Belvidere Track & Field) – McElroy swept three events at the NIC-10 girls track meet, winning the 100 and 200 dashes—beating her twin sister Ta'Leiah, who was favored in both. The sisters then teamed up to take the 4x200 relay title.

Miller (Hononegah Softball) – Leading off for the Indians, Miller was on fire in three wins, going 7-for-12 with five runs, two walks, and a home run. She's now hitting .465 and showing no signs of slowing down.
