Spring sports are heating up, and it's time to recognize the standout athletes who delivered unforgettable performances last week. The Kitsap Sun's Athlete of the Week poll is now open, giving you the chance to vote for the top high school stars from competitions held May 4-9.
Each week, coaches nominate their athletes based on exceptional play, and this round features an impressive lineup. Among the nominees are Bainbridge's Else Drugge, Abby Schnee, Ignacio Llorens, and Cate Torrell; Bremerton's Kali Christian and McKaela Robison; Central Kitsap's Savvy Paulson; Kingston's Taizah Franklin; Klahowya's Brandon Smith, Macayla Wrataric, and Dalton Watson; North Mason's Samantha Neil; and Olympic's Chelsea Barber, Audrey Murphy, Emerson Duncan, and Chase Beninger.
These athletes have shown grit, skill, and sportsmanship, making this week's poll a tough one to call. Whether it's a game-winning hit, a record-breaking sprint, or a clutch defensive play, their efforts deserve your recognition.
Voting is simple: the poll goes live every Wednesday, and you have until Friday at 10 a.m. to cast your ballot. The top male and female vote-getters will be crowned Spring Athletes of the Week. Winners will be announced shortly after the poll closes, so stay tuned to see who takes the title.
Don't miss your chance to support these rising stars. Every vote counts in celebrating their hard work and dedication on the field, court, or track.
