This week's lineup features six standout softball players who delivered unforgettable performances during the week of May 3-9. Whether it's clutch hitting, dominant pitching, or all-around athleticism, these finalists have earned their spot in the spotlight.
Let's meet the nominees, listed in alphabetical order by last name:
Allen Park Catcher (Freshman) – This young star helped her team win three of four games, notching six hits and driving in eight runs against Taylor, Southgate Anderson, and Woodhaven. A bright future ahead!
Logan, Riverview Senior Center Fielder – Logan was a force in two games, scoring 13 runs, collecting 12 hits, and swiping three bases. She led Riverview to a 7-0 shutout over Flat Rock before a narrow 12-11 loss to Huron.
Roy, Groves – Roy was unstoppable during a five-game winning streak, hitting .714 with 14 RBIs, three home runs, and three stolen bases. She powered through double-headers against Notre Dame Prep and Troy Athens.
Skinner, Carlson – A true two-way player, Skinner helped Carlson win four of five games. She pitched 14 innings with 12 strikeouts and contributed nine hits and eight RBIs at the plate.
Smith, Utica – Smith handled double duty across five games, hitting .529 with six RBIs while also throwing 16 strikeouts in 10 innings as a pitcher. A versatile performance worth celebrating.
Rupert, Saline Senior Center Fielder – Rupert made her mark in six games, tallying 19 hits, seven RBIs, 13 runs scored, and six stolen bases. She was the spark plug for Saline's offense all week.
