The race for Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week is heating up as fast as the spring weather! After Luke Dulecki of New Boston Huron set a high bar with 12,671 votes for the April 13-19 poll, Bedford's Iva Ravindra shattered that record with an impressive 15,590 votes for April 20-26. She faced a strong challenge from New Boston Huron baseball's Owen DeLano, who earned 11,208 votes—leaving the next closest candidate far behind with just 329.

Now, it's your turn to make a difference. Voting for the April 27-May 3 winner is open until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. This week's lineup features standout performances across multiple sports, from softball shutouts to walk-off baseball hits and track and field dominance. Here are the candidates in alphabetical order:

Cecelia Aulph, Monroe softball: Threw two shutouts in a doubleheader sweep of Westland John Glenn.
Zamir Austin, Monroe boys track and field: Won high jump and long jump, named Boys Most Valuable Track Athlete at the Mason Invitational.
Brock Cousino, SMCC baseball: Delivered a walk-off hit against Monroe in the seventh inning.
Camryn Cousino, Jefferson-Erie Mason soccer: Collected four goals and an assist in a win over Taylor.
Julia Dyson, Airport softball: Tossed a three-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts against No. 1 Saline.
Max Flint, SMCC boys lacrosse: Scored all five goals for his team Monday, then added seven more Wednesday.
Vince Harris, SMCC boys track and field: Named Boys Most Valuable Athlete at the Mason Invitational.
Hunter Hemelgarn, Ida baseball: Recorded a no-hitter in a victory over Adrian Madison.
Addie Homrich, Erie Mason softball: Went 4-for-4, drove in three runs, stole five bases, and earned the pitching win against Adrian.
Julia Hughes, Ida girls track and field: Won both girls hurdle races at the Mason Invitational.
Adela Illes, SMCC girls track and field: Named Girls Most Valuable Track Athlete at the Mason Invitational.
Reece Kalb, Summerfield baseball: Struck out 11 and drove in the winning run to beat Lenawee Christian 3-2.
