It's time to shine a spotlight on the incredible young athletes of the Visalia area! The Visalia Times-Delta is giving readers the chance to vote for their favorite high school athletes of the week, celebrating standout performances from the track and field.

This week's nominees delivered electrifying moments at the Don Kavadas Tulare County Track and Field Championships, held April 24 at Monarch Stadium, Exeter Union High School. From explosive relays to grueling distance races, these athletes left it all on the track.

In the girls' events, Redwood's Tori Ochoa powered her team to victory in the 4x100m relay, crossing the finish line first alongside teammates Alex Minasola, Graycie Serpa, and Sandra Hardwick. Serpa also dominated individually, taking first in the girls' 400m race. Redwood's Camila Esquivias showed her speed in the hurdles, winning the girls' 100m hurdles event.

Woodlake's Anna Villavicencia displayed incredible grit, holding off Monache's Yazmine Lachino to claim first in the girls' 1600m run. Meanwhile, Monache's Conner Machado secured the top spot in the boys' 1600m, proving his endurance on the big stage.

On the boys' side, Redwood's Jairus Brooks led his team to a win in the 4x100m relay, with teammates Luke Sanchez, Troy Harris, and Jimmie Burk. Redwood's Wyatt Ruby also impressed, taking the win in the boys' 110m hurdles. Tulare Union's Demaje Riley soared to victory in the boys' long jump, showcasing his explosive athleticism.
