The polls are now open, and we're highlighting the standout performances from high school diamonds across the region. Coaches have submitted their nominations based on game reports, with each school allowed one athlete per week. Last week's winners—Logan Miller of Pine Bush and Chase Burton of Port Jervis—are ineligible this time around, so fresh talent is stepping up to the plate.

On May 5, a pitcher struck out 11 batters to lead the Vikings to a 7-3 win over Monticello. Another standout delivered a single, double, and RBI as the Warriors shut out Washingtonville 10-0 on May 4, then followed up with two singles and two RBI in a 2-1 victory over Goshen on May 7.

In a tight 2-1 win over Chester on May 5, a pitcher fanned nine and tossed a five-hitter for the Bears. The Crusaders' offense exploded on May 4, with a player racking up three hits and three RBI in a 13-3 rout of Pine Bush. Despite a loss to Lourdes on May 4, a Panther contributed a double, three singles, and three RBI, adding two hits the next day in a 12-2 defeat to Roosevelt.

Even in a 13-3 loss to Monroe-Woodbury on May 4, a Bushmen player managed a double and two RBI. A Wizards pitcher struck out five and added a single in a loss to Minisink Valley on May 4. The Tigers roared past Newburgh 13-6 on May 7, thanks to two hits and two RBI from one player.
