The News-Press and the Naples Daily News are celebrating Southwest Florida's top high school teams this season, and now it's your turn to make your voice heard. Each month, we recognize the standout squads from Collier and Lee counties, and for April, we want you to vote for the team that impressed you most.

From the courts to the pitch, the 2025-26 season has been packed with memorable performances. Girls athletes have been dominating the spotlight, with weekly honors sponsored by MY Shower Door highlighting exceptional talent across multiple sports. In soccer, Canterbury's Mackenzie Molina earned Athlete of the Week honors for Jan. 26-31, while Bishop Verot's Lea Scotti and Gianna Fabrizi took the spotlight for mid-January weeks. Basketball stars like Cypress Lake's Victoria Silva, Fort Myers' Kayden Smutney, and Evangelical Christian's Nalah Smith have also shown their skills on the hardwood.

But the recognition doesn't stop there. Barron Collier's Abby Homberger and Canterbury's Nessiah Wallace made their mark in basketball earlier in the season, while Canterbury's Gloriana Chalkias shined on the soccer field in November. Cross country runners Fort Myers' Maggie Pocklington and Oasis Charter's Madison Easton proved their endurance, and swimmers Cape Coral's Eva Scribner and ECS's Ashley Villaflor made waves in the pool. Fort Myers' Kyla Parker rounded out the early season honors in October.

Now, as we look ahead to April, it's time to rally behind your favorite team. Whether they dominated on the field, court, or track, every squad deserves a shot at being named the SW FL Top Team. Cast your vote and help us honor the best of the best from Southwest Florida high school sports. Your support fuels their passion—so get out there and make it count!
