The votes are in, and the South Shore High School Female Athlete of the Week has been crowned! After an intense round of fan voting that saw over 16,000 ballots cast, Archbishop Williams softball star Faith Giglio has taken the top honor. Giglio delivered a standout performance at the plate, crushing two home runs, a double, driving in five RBIs, and crossing the plate three times in the Bishops' commanding 18-7 victory over Bishop Fenwick. It's the kind of explosive offensive display that defines a true champion.

But Giglio wasn't the only athlete turning heads this week. Across the diamond and on the track, a host of talented athletes put up jaw-dropping numbers. McGraw lit up the scoreboard for the Blue Eagles, netting five goals in a 12-7 win over Barnstable. Meanwhile, Thompson was unstoppable at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two home runs to power a 15-3 rout of Norwell.

Ondrick made history as well, smashing two home runs and tallying six RBIs in a 12-2 win over Notre Dame Academy—while also surpassing the incredible milestone of 50 career homers. Adams added to the power surge with a three-run shot in a 12-2 victory over Abington. In the circle, Daley earned the win and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in a 14-4 win over Framingham, helping the Wildcats clinch a spot in the Div. 2 tournament.

Maroney was a force in a marquee 17-14 victory over Concord-Carlisle, racking up 10 total points, while Arseneau went 3-for-5 with four RBIs in a 15-2 win over Hingham. A freshman made her mark too, with her first career hit coming as a home run in a 12-7 loss to Cohasset. And on the track, Flynn dominated the Bishops' win over Bishop Fenwick and Arlington Catholic, winning the 100m hurdles (17.73), long jump (15-11), and high jump (4-10).

Voting is unlimited and closes Tuesday, May 19 at noon. Emailed votes won't be counted, so get your picks in now. Want to nominate a future star? Send submissions to jsnow@usatodayco.com. Remember, making this list is an achievement in itself—congratulations to all the incredible athletes!
