It's time to celebrate the best of Somerset County spring sports! Each week, the Daily American shines a spotlight on the standout student-athletes who are making waves on the field, track, and court. For the week of May 4-9, we're asking you to cast your vote for the Female and Male Athletes of the Week.

Polls open bright and early at 5 a.m. on Monday, and you have until 5 p.m. on Wednesday to make your voice heard. Please note, votes are limited to one per IP address or computer network, so make it count!

Last week, Paige Weaver and Cole Yoder took home the honors for April 27-May 2. Who will join their ranks this time? The winners will be featured in the top performers section of next Tuesday's print edition, so every vote helps write the story of Somerset County's rising stars.

Be sure to include details of their achievements for that week only, including any notable statistics or results. All submissions will be considered, but not every nominee will be selected.
