The spring sports season is heating up, and it's time to cast your vote for the Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week in the Petoskey area! This week's poll honors standout performances from Monday, May 4 through Saturday, May 9 across Emmet and Charlevoix Counties.

Last week, East Jordan softball's Emma Murray claimed the title with an impressive 54.58% of the vote, holding off Boyne City's Anderson Ward. The sophomore sensation continues to shine, and now a new group of athletes is vying for the honor.

This Week's Nominees:

Groves (Track & Field): At the Northern Shores Conference championships, Groves delivered personal records in the 100 meters (2nd place) and 200 meters (3rd place), while anchoring the 4x200 relay to 1st and the 4x100 relay to 2nd place finishes.

Bush (Softball): A milestone week! Bush surpassed 100 career hits, adding a double, a home run, and eight RBIs against Charlevoix. She also earned wins against the Ryders and TCSF, and struck out 13 batters versus Bellaire.

Racignol (Soccer): The senior forward powered Petoskey to a shutout victory over Sault Ste. Marie, scoring two goals to boost her season total.

Phillips (Baseball): Facing Elk Rapids and East Jordan, Phillips stayed hot with two doubles, five RBIs, and four runs scored, while also earning the win on the mound against Elk.

Sulitis (Track & Field): At the Big North finals, Sulitis set two personal bests—placing 2nd in the shot put (33 feet, 1 inch) and 3rd in the discus (89 feet, 2 inches).

Eaton (Track & Field): Dominating the Northern Shores championship, Eaton took 1st in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, plus ran a PR of 50.70 seconds in the 400 meters for 2nd place.

Pool (Softball): A power surge! Pool went 6-for-8 with six RBIs, two home runs, and a double against TC West, then homered again versus Cadillac—bringing her season total to 10 dingers.
