Voting is officially open for the South Bend Tribune Athlete of the Week poll, covering standout performances from May 4 through May 9. Fans have until Thursday, May 14, at 11:59 p.m. ET to cast their votes for this week's top athlete.

This week's ballot features 15 nominees from 15 different schools across the South Bend Tribune coverage area, representing four different sports. Here's a look at the impressive achievements that earned these athletes a spot on the list:

Leading the charge is a senior who powered the Bobcats to a 6-1 record last week with two home runs, 11 hits, six RBIs, five runs, five doubles, three stolen bases, and three walks. That's a stat line that screams all-around dominance.

On the track, a senior set a new school record in the 200-meter dash on May 7, crossing the finish line in 25.74 seconds. What makes this feat even more special? The previous record holder was the athlete's own mother, Kim, who set the mark at 25.97 seconds. Talk about family pride!

A freshman made waves for the Bucks, combining for 13 RBIs, three home runs, eight runs, nine hits, two doubles, and a triple in just four wins last week. For a first-year player to produce at that level is nothing short of remarkable.

On the golf course, a sophomore finished second individually at the IHSAA Spring Preview on May 9 in Carmel, shooting just one over par with a 73. The Lions team finished fifth overall, 23 strokes over par.

Another senior compiled an impressive week with 10 runs, nine hits, nine RBIs, six stolen bases, four walks, three doubles, and a home run as the RedHawks went undefeated at 4-0. That's the kind of production that keeps a team rolling.

A freshman golfer shot a career-best 36 on May 6 against Knox, earning individual medalist honors. He followed that up by taking medalist honors again on May 9 at the Marshall County Invite with an 81. Consistency at such a young age is a sign of great things to come.

In a jaw-dropping offensive display, a senior hit two home runs—including a grand slam—in a 23-7 conference win at Warsaw on May 4. The Cavemen set a school record with eight home runs in that game, including three in a row. Six different players homered, with Millie Bultinck adding two more.

A senior delivered the game-winning RBI double in an extra-inning victory over New Prairie on May 5. Clutch performances like that are what Athlete of the Week honors are all about.

On the mound, a senior pitched seven shutout innings against Marian on May 5, striking out 13 batters while walking three and allowing just three hits. That's a dominant outing that had fans on their feet.

A junior also set a school record in their sport, though details were still emerging at press time.

Don't miss your chance to vote for these incredible athletes. The poll closes Thursday, May 14, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Every vote counts!
