It's that time of year again when the Texas high school sports scene heats up, and our latest Happy State Bank Athlete of the Week nominees are nothing short of spectacular. With UIL state championships in golf, tennis, and track & field underway, plus intense baseball and softball playoff action, this week's finalists represent the very best of Panhandle athletic excellence.

Every week, the Globe-News accepts nominations for student-athletes across all varsity sports. This week's standout performers come from Randall, Dumas, Wildorado, West Plains, Amarillo High, Sundown, Dimmitt, and Valley. The voting poll closes Thursday, with the winner announced shortly after. Want to nominate an athlete for next week? Send their stats and achievements to sports@amarillo.com by 5 p.m. each Saturday.

Now, let's meet this week's incredible candidates:

Jensen Betzen & Kynley Craddock, Randall tennis — This dynamic duo captured the Class 4A mixed doubles state championship, defeating Canyon's Hannah Terry and Cooper Richardson in a thrilling final.

Aaliyah Chairez, Dumas softball — The Demonettes' slugger had a monster week, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, and five RBIs in a Game 1 win against Mineral Wells, then added another homer in Game 2.

Hunter Corman, Wildorado boys golf — Consistency paid off for Corman, who shot 74-73—147 to claim the individual gold medal at the Class 1A UIL State Tournament.

Sydney Garza, West Plains softball — Garza delivered when it mattered most, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a game-tying home run in a 5-4 Game 1 win. The Wolves went on to sweep Springtown and advance to the regional final.

Olivia Hefley & Sara Shelhamer, Amarillo High girls tennis — This talented pair battled through a three-set thriller to claim the Class 5A girls doubles state championship against Frisco Wakeland.

Isaiah Igo, Sundown boys golf — Igo carded an impressive 67-69—136 to finish third in the medalist standings at the Class 2A UIL State golf tournament.

Liliana Rodriguez, Dimmitt girls track — Making history, Rodriguez competed at the Region I-3A meet in the 100, 200, and pole vault, finishing second in the 200 to qualify for the UIL state meet. She's the first female athlete from Dimmitt to reach the state track meet since before 2000.

Carson Tucker & Damian Valdes, Valley boys tennis — This talented pair rounds out our list of finalists, representing the depth of tennis talent across the region.
