It's time to lace up and make your voice heard! The Detroit Free Press Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Prep Athlete of the Week poll is now open, featuring three standout athletes from lacrosse, softball, and soccer who delivered unforgettable performances during the week of April 26-May 2.

From game-winning plays to dominant stat lines, these student-athletes proved they have what it takes to compete at the highest level. Let's meet the finalists, listed in alphabetical order by last name:

Hampton (Grosse Pointe South Lacrosse)
The Blue Devils faced a tough week, opening with a 17-9 loss to Birmingham Seaholm on April 27. But this senior captain refused to let the setback define her team. Hampton bounced back with a vengeance, leading Grosse Pointe South to a 15-6 victory over Novi on April 30 and a hard-fought 8-8 draw against Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood on May 1. Her stat line speaks volumes: 12 goals, 17 ground balls, and three assists. A true leader on and off the field.

Hyles (Harrison Township L'Anse Creuse Softball)
This sophomore pitcher is making a name for herself in the circle. Playing in five of six games last week, Hyles logged 27 innings with an impressive 42 strikeouts and a stellar 1.82 ERA. But she's not just a pitcher—she can swing it, too. Hyles posted a .529 batting average with nine RBIs, proving she's a dual threat every opponent must respect.

Sines (Fraser Soccer)
Senior Sines powered Fraser to back-to-back wins against Grosse Pointe North and Lake Shore, scoring five goals across both contests. Her offensive spark was the difference-maker, helping her team build momentum as the season heats up. With speed, skill, and a knack for finding the back of the net, Sines is a player to watch.

Voting is open now, and we encourage you to celebrate these incredible athletes by casting your ballot. Nominations for games played during the week of May 3-9 can be submitted at freep.com/athlete (note: please use the nomination link for submissions only, not for voting).

We take the integrity of this vote seriously—just like these athletes respect the game. Tampering, bots, or paid voting will result in disqualification or a "no contest" ruling. Let's keep it fair and fun.
