This week's Boys Athlete of the Week nominees are packed with standout performances, headlined by a lacrosse star reaching a major career milestone. Voting is open until 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, so make sure your voice is heard.

Last week's winner was Fairhaven lacrosse player Gavin Herman, who earned 43% of the vote. In two games, he tallied 4 goals and 1 assist, continuing a strong season. Previous winners include Old Colony's Rowan Caulkins, New Bedford's Jonah Wahnon, and Old Rochester's Malik Washburn and Chase DeMello.

This week's nominees feature a mix of lacrosse, volleyball, track and field, and tennis stars. Among the highlights: Lally scored his 200th career goal against Bridgewater-Raynham, finishing with 2 goals and 1 assist, and added 6 goals and 2 assists in an overtime loss to Plymouth North. In volleyball, Stringer posted a career-high 16 kills and 4 blocks in a win over Boston United, while Arroyo had a career-high 14 kills against Durfee. Rodriguez dished out a career-high 37 assists in the same match. On the track, Pires took first in both the shot put (37-3) and javelin (124-1) against Cape Cod Tech.

Other notable performances include Garcia's 48 assists and 15 digs across two volleyball matches, Monteiro's 24 kills and 7 digs in two matches, and Sanders' combined 40 saves in a pair of games. In lacrosse, Herman scored a team-high 4 goals in a win over Apponequet, while Caulkins had 4 goals and 4 assists in two games. Chase contributed 1 goal and 4 assists against Apponequet, and Cook netted a team-high 4 goals in a win over Dighton-Rehoboth. LeBlanc added 2 goals and 2 assists in an overtime loss to Blue Hills. On the tennis court, Jensen won his first singles match against New Bedford.
