It was a week of high drama and standout performances on the diamond, and now it's your turn to decide who takes home the Baseball Player of the Week honors for May 4-10.
Last week's winner, Apponequet's Petie Kanakis, set the bar high with a dominant performance: six shutout innings, just three hits allowed, and an eye-popping 14 strikeouts. He also drove in three runs at the plate. Previous winners include Dartmouth's Chase Afonso, Dom Gioiosa, and Sebastian Diaz, while Logan Stott claimed the Preseason Player of the Year title with over 1,000 votes.
This week's nominees delivered big moments—from walk-off heroics to no-hit magic. Here's a look at the top candidates:
Garrett Butler (Apponequet) delivered in the clutch, tossing two scoreless relief innings before driving in the winning run with a walk-off single in the eighth inning against Fairhaven. He also added two hits and two RBIs against East Bridgewater.
Tingley Prince (St. John Paul II) showed off his power stroke, going 4-for-7 with two home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored in two wins.
Winslow (Bishop Fenwick) had a monster game, going 2-for-3 with a grand slam and seven RBIs. He also contributed a hit and an RBI against St. Mary's.
Delk (Bishop Fenwick) was untouchable, throwing a no-hitter with five strikeouts in an 11-0 win.
Logan Stott (Dartmouth) continues to rake, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, and five RBIs in a win over Case.
Other strong performances came from Bogdan (four hits, three RBIs), Levesque (solid outings against Old Rochester and East Bridgewater), Norton (five hits, four RBIs), Zexter (four hits, six runs scored), and Nunes-Medeiros (three hits, two doubles).
Voting is open now and will close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. Cast your ballot and help us recognize the best of the week's high school baseball action.
