Shutdown pitchers and powerful hitters headline this week's nominees. Voting ends at 8 p.m. on May 10.

It was a week of dominant pitching and explosive hitting across the diamond, and now it's your turn to decide who takes home the Baseball Player of the Week honors for April 27 through May 3.

Last week's winner, Dartmouth's Chase Afonso, put on a show with over 7,000 votes (55%) to claim the title. The two-way standout improved to 3-0 on the mound, allowing six runs (four earned) on 11 hits and three walks while striking out four in a win over Sandwich. At the plate, he went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Afonso joins previous winners Dom Gioiosa and Sebastian Diaz in the winner's circle this season.

The preseason Player of the Year honor went to Dartmouth's Logan Stott, who earned more than 1,000 votes (38%) to set the stage for a thrilling regular season.

Now, it's time to recognize the top performances from this week's action. Voting closes at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, so make your voice heard before the final out.

Here's a look at the standout nominees who delivered when it mattered most:

On the mound: Beauregard went the distance in a shutout over Somerset Berkley, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out six. He also contributed a hit and an RBI at the plate, and added another hit, three RBIs, and a sacrifice fly against GNB Voc-Tech. Kanakis was equally impressive, tossing six scoreless innings with 14 strikeouts in a win over GNB Voc-Tech, while adding two hits and three RBIs across two games. Bourgeois shined in relief, pitching three innings of one-run ball against Bourne and two shutout innings against West Bridgewater, also going 1-for-2 with a run scored.

At the plate: Bogdan collected four hits across wins over Case and Somerset Berkley. Butler made a game-saving catch in center field to prevent a three-run home run against Case, adding three hits and an RBI against Somerset Berkley. Cartagena racked up four hits, six RBIs, and three runs scored in three games. Winslow was a run-producing machine with five hits, three RBIs, and five runs scored over the same span. Zexter went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a win over Durfee and added a hit and a run against Sandwich.

Whether you're backing a pitcher who dominated from the rubber or a hitter who crushed it at the dish, this week's ballot is stacked with talent. Cast your vote and help crown the next Baseball Player of the Week.
