From record-breaking track times to dominant lacrosse performances, this week's nominees have left it all on the field. Let's meet the candidates, each bringing their A-game to the competition:
Golf: Aquinas junior Allen shot a stellar par score of 36 at Eagle Vale and followed it up with a one-under-par 34 at Caledonia Country Club, earning medalist honors in two nine-hole matches.
Track & Field: Rush-Henrietta junior Collins-Howard blazed the 100-meter dash in 10.73 seconds at the Flower City Invitational, lowering his Section V-best time. He also set the Section V indoor 55-meter dash record this winter.
Lacrosse: Penn Yan's Fingar racked up 12 points, including seven goals, over two games last week. He also collected eight ground balls in Saturday's win against Section VI's Hamburg.
Track & Field: Marcus Whitman sophomore Hill ran the fastest 1,600-meter race in Section V this spring, finishing in 4 minutes, 21.18 seconds at the Wayne Invitational on May 8.
Lacrosse: Penfield's Joyce became his program's all-time leading goal scorer with two tallies against Hilton on Tuesday, bringing his career total to 137 goals.
Lacrosse: Greece's Odell dominated at the faceoff X, winning 66 of 74 faceoffs (89%) across three games. He went a perfect 25-for-25 in matchups against Rush-Henrietta and Brockport, and added three goals for the week.
Track & Field: Webster Thomas's Lewis ran the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 55.77 seconds, the fastest time in Section V this season.
