Last week's winner was Ana Muniz of Space Coast softball, and you can check out the full list of 2025-26 winners below. Coaches and athletic directors are encouraged to nominate athletes each week by emailing their accomplishments from the previous Monday through Saturday to Prepscores@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. every Sunday.

This week's nominees delivered incredible performances, especially during the state playoffs and track championships. Here's a look at the athletes who made the cut:

In track and field, Geraghty took third in the 3200 meters (11:09.54) at the Class 1A state finals in Jacksonville on May 6. Bryant shined at the Class 2A state meet on May 7, finishing second in the 100 meters and eighth in the 200 meters, while also helping her 4x100 relay team win a state title. Merrick and Coryell both claimed state titles at the Class 3A meet on May 8—Merrick in the 800 meters and Coryell in the 3200 meters.

On the softball diamond, Stout threw a five-inning shutout with just two hits allowed and nine strikeouts in a 10-0 Class 4A regional playoff win on May 6. Amos followed with a one-hit shutout, recording two walks and nine strikeouts in a 14-0 Class 2A regional victory over Ocala Vanguard. Barrera was a force at the plate and in the circle, going 4-for-4 with two RBIs while also throwing a complete game, allowing two earned runs and striking out five in a Class 2A regional playoff. Balavender delivered a dominant one-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts in a 2-0 Class 6A regional win over Oviedo on May 7.

Also nominated is Aaliyah Lawrence from Melbourne Central Catholic basketball, rounding out a week of stellar athletic achievements.
