Get ready to cast your vote! The Cellcom Press-Gazette is back with another exciting round of high school athlete of the week nominations, and we need your help to crown the winner. Voting is open until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, and best of all, you don't need to be a subscriber to participate. So, let's dive into this week's standout performers!

Last week, Luxemburg-Casco baseball player Noah Chervenka took the crown with an impressive 8,803 votes, edging out Marinette's Bailey Krouth, who earned 7,241 votes as the runner-up. Chervenka made history as the first L-C athlete to win player of the week in the 2025-26 season and only the third in the poll's history, joining former volleyball star Ella Vander Velden and state champion wrestler Carson Neubert. That's some elite company!

Now, onto this week's nominees. First up is Artie Adams, a junior catcher for the Pirates. He helped his team stay undefeated last week and remain on top of the Fox River Classic Conference. His standout moment came in the second game of a doubleheader sweep against Manitowoc, where he went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs in an 11-8 victory. With a .356 batting average, six homers, and 22 RBIs entering the week, Adams is a force to be reckoned with behind the plate.

Next, we have Elizabeth Boughton, a freshman for the Trojans. It's been a tough season for the team, but Boughton has been a shining light. She led the Trojans to their second win of 2026 by going 3-for-3 with three doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored in an 11-8 victory over Sheboygan North. She also combined for 3-for-5 with an RBI, a run, and a hit-by-pitch in losses to the Golden Raiders and Pulaski. Boughton is second on the team with a .350 batting average, boasting a .409 on-base percentage and a .909 OPS. Not bad for a freshman!

Maximus Davis, a junior from the Hornets, is known for his wrestling prowess, but he's also making waves in track and field. He won the pole vault at the Arrowhead Myrhum Invite with a height of 14 feet, 9 inches, after earlier taking the event at the Fox River Classic Conference Relays with a 14-0 mark. Davis is aiming for a return trip to the WIAA Division 1 state meet after qualifying as a sophomore. Keep an eye on this versatile athlete!

Isaiah Hester, a junior from the Wildcats, is a true three-sport athlete, playing football in the fall and basketball in winter. He shined at the Bay Port DeMerit Invitational, winning the 200-meter dash in 22.30 seconds, standing out among several local athletes who found success at the event.

Other nominees include Shaelyn Kraschnewski, Molly Molthen, and Aaliyah Wallace, each bringing their own unique talents to the field. So, who gets your vote? Head to the poll below and make your voice heard. Let's celebrate these incredible young athletes and their hard work!
